Silk Charmeuse hand painted in vivid colors, which
capture the light and create a glow, is a fitting fabric for Chuppahs /
Huppahs, the sacred canopies under which brides and grooms take their
wedding vows.
The Talmud tells us that the Chuppah / Huppah
also represents divine light. Just as the Chuppah / Huppah covers the
bridal couple, so this light surrounds all of creation. It is the light of
wisdom and the root of all existence. After the wedding it becomes a personal
treasure, an heirloom, and beautiful reminder for the couple to display as a
wall piece.
Strauss has won numerous awards for her work and has been
commissioned nationally by Museums and Synagogues.
Her Chuppahs /
Huppah have been featured in BRIDE'S, MODERN BRIDE, and THE NEW YORK TIMES.
She was interviewed in her studio by ABC EYEWITNESS NEWS for "Wedding
Art".
